A nice hotel in a convenient position for the metro from the main train station; also plenty of busses available nearby. Be aware at the nearest metro exit there is a long run of steps, quite a struggle with a heavy case but there is an elevator available although tricky to find. There is a nice spacious reception area with charming and helpful staff. The rooms, as expected, were small but did have a window looking out at another window! The beds were wide and comfortable and everything was very clean. Very limited storage, as expected for the price and location. Good bathroom with a decent sized shower. We especially liked the Japanese style breakfast, lots of choice and an opportunity to try local food. The lady in charge was delightful and clearly took a pride in the food and presentation.

Very close to Karasuma Shijo station. There’s also a nearby Family Mart which is very convenient. Property is new and clean, great value for money.

The hotel is in an excellent location, 5 min away from the nearest subway station and within walking distance to the busiest area with shops and restaurants, yet it’s on a quiet street away from the buzz. The staff are really welcoming and professional. You can leave your bags if you arrive too early before the check-in or have to leave later after the check-out. Oh, and the breakfast is truly delicious! Freshly made onigiri, accompanied by a few traditional options and some European ones were a fantastic start of the day - highly recommend!

The location of the hotel was perfect for us, close the bus stops and the shopping street. There are many restaurants and coffee shops near by the hotel. The hotel staff is very helpful and respectful. They let us leave the luggage at the reception on the first day, when we arrived, before our check in, and then again on the last day, after check out. We booked an option with the breakfast, it was nice, if you don’t expect too much. The Japanese section included the freshly made onigiri, miso soup, tofu, steamed fish or chicken and few other items. The western section had eggs, pancakes and croissants, that’s pretty much it. They also used the disposable plates and cups at the breakfast, which seems wasteful. The room was small, however, it is normal for Japanese standards. We had to move the furniture to be able to place two suitcases. The hygiene and cleanliness are very good, they offered two types of cleaning, so you can choose the full cleaning or just removal of trash from your room. There are washing machines also available in the hallway. Overall it was a very pleasant experience, we would book again.

Great location in Kyoto. Walking distance from city centre. Gion is at 20 minutes walk. 5 minutes walk to metro station and 2 minutes walk to bus stop. There’s plenty of good restaurants around the area. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Breakfast was ok. Fresh onigiri with a big variety of fillings. Staff was very kind and helpful.

The room we stayed in was very spacious. It had a small couch that could fit 2 people and a small table to eat on. The room was very clean and the bed was cozy and comfortable to me and my wife's liking. The hotel staffs accomodated to our needs and they were all polite and friendly. The hotel was just a few minutes walk to the subway line and bus stops. There are good small restaurants, convenient stores, and an amazing supermarket near the hotel. Its a wonderful place to stay in if ever your visiting in Kyoto.

Location close to everything you needed, including shopping area, restaurants and metro. Polite and helpful staff. Luggage storage at check-in and check-out (free). Clean big room with a large bed. Also, washing machines available form 400/500JPY.

It is the second RIHGA Place hotel we stayed in for our trip. Compared to the last one, this one in Kyoto is even more central in location (hidden right inside Shijo-Karasuma), with only a few steps away from all the pubs and cafes. Plenty of choices when it comes to dining. The room is clean, standard in size for RIHGA Place The staff is very nice and helpful.

The staff is super friendly, willing to help and provide information as much as they can. The location of this stay is convenient, it’s only one minutes walk from the subway, 15 minutes walk away from Shijo Street, the center of Kyoto. We didn’t add hotel breakfast plan while booking. However, it’s totally possible to join the breakfast with extra charge. It’s Japanese style breakfast with good quality, if you don’t have other breakfast plan yet, I strongly recommend you to try it.
